A Hypocrite In Need - Help me!

I am looking for some good kid recipes for vegetable dishes. I am literally a dunce when it comes to preparing vegetables for a meal - so no recipe would go unappreciated.

This may sound odd to you veggie lovers out there but I have never 'taken to' most veggies (I spent many a night left sitting at the dinner table long after everyone had left until I ate my veggies, after so long my parents just gave up though I really do wish that I liked them) therefore I never learned how to prepare them or how to make them appetizing. I have struggled getting Slade to eat his veggies and now that his growing is slowing down he is becoming picky and is not the hearty eater he once was so he refuses veggies even more. I can only see my bad habits leading him further astray unless I make some good changes. Mark thinks I'm being a little hypocritical, but I'd really like for my children to grow to be good healthy eaters.

Please send me (taylor.elisabeth@gmail.com or just reply in a comment post) the recipes that your family enjoys when you get a minute, if you don't mind. I have ordered the book written by Seinfeld's wife that incorporates veggies right into the main course so that he is getting them and hopefully developing a taste for them (as well as myself), but I need to learn how to prepare veggies as a side dish and what better source to turn to?

Again, anything is appreciated!

I try to keep it simple with vegetables-- like steamed broccoli(Neil calls them little trees) and cauliflower.. or raw vegetables and dip-- my boys like celery, cucumbers, carrots, peas from the garden etc. They even like a simple salad (with ranch dressing..). They tend to like fruit more than vegetables, but I just try to get vegetables in where we can. I think a lot of kids like to dip things, so that may be a good way to get them to at least try veggies.
