Babies, Guns, & Beauty Pageants!

Whatever the reason that motivated John McCain to choose Sarah Palin as his V.P. is irrelevant because what it comes down to is that it doesn't matter. What does matter is that she's AWESOME and it was the perfect choice. This woman is a woman's woman AND a man's woman- who couldn't love her? She manages to have a wonderful family, amazing hobbies (hunting & gutting her own kills to boot!), an awesome husband backing her up (and apparently they still have sex...with each other as they just had a new addition to their family... unlike other presidential hopefuls and presidents (the very disgusting philandering Edwards, Clinton, and just about everyone else it seems), has won beauty pageants, scholarships, basketball tournaments- I could go on and on- she is fascinating! She started her current career in the PTA of all places! Alaska is so lucky, we're stuck with goofy Gov. Huntsman and his 10-hour workday's (did he get anyone's opinion before doing that?)! I found this blog through a friend of a relative and really enjoyed it regarding the new v.p. candidate - http://tickledpinkbaby.blogspot.com/ - you may too.

I'm so excited that she was the chioce for V.P. - let's kick Obama's butt outta the running! WHOO HOO!!!!

It was such a heavy handed effort to win over the women that were following Clinton, that it annoys me.
I think that the papers made a mistake - her bio doesn't mention a baby.
It is offical that her 17 year old daughter is pregos and marring the father of the child. (Does that make it true love?)
The fact that her daughter has joined the ranks of unwed pregnant teenagers doesn't endorce her sterling fmaily values- maybe she should be stepping out of the lime light in order to have more time with her daughter during this time rather than inviting reporters to watch her daughter go through this.
It doesn't actually win points that she guts and skins her own recreational kills.
Blegh.

Why let it annoy you- it's such an awesome pick and opens the door to even more awesome things to come in the future for women (this coming from a SAHM I know) how is there a way to not be excited about this?!?! :)
Did you see her speak at the Republican Conventions? Holy cow, she brought tears to my eyes...of laughter! She was calling Obama out left and right and cracking on the pillars they had at the Demo. convention- FUNNY STUFF!! The woman can hold her own- she and her First Dude!

Her baby is an absolute doll and the fact that her daughter is preggo and marrying the father (he too was at the Convention with the daughter) makes me love the normal family all the more. Not that you condone something like that- but I think we all make tons of mistakes and look at them handle it together like a champ. The fact that the daughter was there supporting her mom and enduring the nastiness of the press (while the Brittney & Jamie Lynn Spears of the world get sympathy and love for doing the same) speaks of the character in the family. Her daughter being preggo doesn't speak of her lack of parenting skills of absence in the home - I know many girls, myself included, who could've been in her very same position who come from a great family life. She had to come out with the confirmation that her daughter was preggo due to the lack of privacy from reporters speculating and accusing that her baby was not in fact her own. Her daughter's an adult now and is owning up to her actions.

It's so funny that the Democrats fight so hard to get daycares in workplaces, leave the kids of democratic 'royalty' families alone, and preach about the right to choose and be single and pregnant all the day long- but as soon as it's someone on the other side of the fence - LOOK OUT. They only apparently allow those in their club slide on the values they claim to hold.
And while I could NOT personally kill, skin, or eat a live animal- she is my idol b/c she can and does. The woman does EVERYTHING- she even sold the 'company' jet on Ebay b/c she didn't want to waste taxpayer's money. Google her- she's done so many amazing things!
She is one sassy yet enormously intelligent and talented lady - man do I hope they win!!!

I think it is unduling hard on her daughter during this time to have a mother whom she needs more than ever to add another time consuming item to her list. She is currently BOTH Govenor and VP canidate.
It also seems (so me) not not be the best thing to thrust your teenage daughter into the lime light while she is going through such an emotional time as being an unwed mother.
I like to think that I would try and protect my child rather than put her needs behind my own asperations. (Even if she turns out to be the best thing in recent history for the US- isn't family supposed to come first?) Not to mention that she has a special needs infant to care for- I hear that childeren need a lot of care and attention even if they are perfectly healthy. I feel bad for the other children in the family- it's got to be rough to have a handicapped sibling and as well as news as upheaving as an unplanned teen pregnancy- then on top of already having a Govenor (lots of hours and people who need her) for a mother, they have mother who is running for V.P. - and they have to stand in front of crowds and pretend that they are fine.

Candice- I would love to hear what your mom has to say about how Sarah Palin has performed so far in her Gov. duties in Alaska!

Terra- I totally agree that the most important place for a mother is in the home being there for her children 24/7. That being said, there is a desperate need in our country for someone who is truly dedicated to making it better and has demonstrated unwavering character. If that means getting a woman into office then that means sacrifices must be made. That being said, her husband is filling the role as stay-at-homer BUT if you see her in public with her children she is very natural and close with them- she braids hair quickly, nurses her baby, etc.. The majority of her children are grown- she has a younger daughter and a baby to care for now - there have been plenty of political families to come through with more than that to care for so.... There's obviously no way we're going to see eye to eye on this one. I say Palin should run for President and McCain as the backup!
